LG 3-Part System
LG 3-Part System is another method used for making number plates and signs using laser printers.
As the name suggests, there are 3 parts: the film, the reflective and rigid clear acrylic.
The film
- The film is coated allowing it to be printed on by recommended Laser Printers whether mono or colour.
- You print the number plate or sign on 1 side of the film.
The reflective media
- The reflective media is reflective on one side.
- Remove the protective clear film of the adhesive reflective side.
The rigid clear acrylic
- The rigid clear acrylic has adhesive on one side.
- Remove the protective clear film of the adhesive side.
Combining the 3 parts
- Place the reflective media, adhesive side up, on to the alignment jig.
- Place the printed film (with the printed element viewable the correct way) above the rigid reflective plate and use an alignment jig to bond both parts together.
- Place the combined reflective and film face up
- Place the clear acrylic adhesive side down and use an alignment jig to bond both parts together.
The completed plate or sign will have the printed film sandwiched between the reflective media and the rigid clear acrylic - this means the letters cannot be scratched off.
